Technology Faculties are young and novel faculties established in 2009, built upon three distinguishing properties with the aim of training practically highly skilled engineers.  


Their first property is that the programs under these faculties are designed as specific as possible. Curriculum of the programs are planned to include 40% practical engineering courses, enriched with elective courses and also based on industries’ knowledge+skill+perfection requirements curriculum aims advanced learning objectives. Thus, to satisfy the need for professional engineers in their sectors is also targeted.


Second distinguishing property of these faculties is, students are not only obliged to complete two 36 days of summer internships but also they are required to finish “Workplace Training” courses; unlike to other engineering faculties. This course is taken in the 7th semester or 8th semester of the education in a company which is leader in it’s sector and also a role-model and has estasblished R&D departments of it’s own. This course is a full-time course that has it’s own credits and can be controlled and measured by academicians with an intensive skill education.


Workplace Training is a program that aims to provide students with knowledge, skills, experience, implementation, initial training and workplace manners which cannot be given by means of formal training. With the help of Workplace Training students are getting familiar with the sector before graduating, they are used to with what they are going to do and have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with work environment. Also students will decide their area of expertise before graduation and even some will be granted with an employment offer.


Final distinguishing property of Technology Faculties is 30% of available quota for classes is reserved for Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institution graduates for the respective program. Those students coming through this process and fail to pass exemption exam are required to finish a two-semester “Scientific Preparation” class. Thus, Secondary Vocational and Technical Education is supported by means of this preparation class.


IUAS Technology Faculty is composed of as the following departments which are fully functional; Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Machinery and Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering. Curriculum of these departments are designed to meet national and international accreditation standarts(ABET & MUDEK) of engineering departments that consists of 240 ECTS credits and with a 40% application oriented. Our students can benefit from ERASMUS,FARABI and MEVLANA exchange programs for up to 2 semesters. Thus, they can continue their education either in national universities or international ones. These departments offer the opportunity to have a second diploma, certificate, minor and double major.


Electrical-Electronics Engineerind department offers courses about electrical and electronics subjects. This department has the most TUBITAK projects support and in the 3rd and 4th years students are encouraged to apply for these projects. Our department has the followıng fully functional laboratories;Analog and Digital Electronics Lab, Electrical Machines and Power Electronics, Control and Automation, Microcontrollers and Digital Signal Processing Lab, Computer Labs. Also several classrooms for drawing and lectures.


Energy Systems Engineering department offers application oriented courses as follows; Conventional Energy Production, Renewable Energy Sources, Cooling, Climating-Ventilating, Plumbing, Gas Installation, Desing concerning Energy Management and Energy Economy, manufacturing, management and maintenance qualified and capable engineers are the graduates of this department. In our department following laboratories can be used; Plumbing, Manufacturing, Natural Gas, Energy, Renewable Energy, CAD and Production line. Also a seminar classroom and drawing classrooms are available.


Manufaturing Engineering department, trains Manufacturing Engineers for machine manufacturing sector which is one of the most required area of work in our country. Graduates, especially can work in the following areas; Machinery Design and Manufacturing, CNC, Automotive Industry, Energy, Robot Technology, Defense Industry, Welding, CAD/CAM Systems, Foundries and Moulding Plants, Plastic Forming Plants and Metal Sector. In general graduates can find jobs in most of the machine and manufacturing related sectors. Following laboratories are located in or department; Material Lab, Plumbing Lab, Manufacturing Lab, Natural Gas Lab, Energy Lab, CAD/CAM. Also a seminar classroom and drawing classrooms are available.


Civil engineer is the person who is able to implement and control the implementation processes of the following areas of work by means of economical engineering methods; structures, highways, railways, subways, bridges, tunnels, docks, dams(reservoirs), watering structures, water filtering structures and many more. In this department;structural, geotechnic, transportation, water structures and construction materials specific engineering areas are being taught. Following laboratories are located in our department; Reinforced concrete structures, wooden structures, construction materials, transportation, geotechnic. Also CAD drawing and drawing classes are available.


Mechatronics Engineering department is an interdisciplinary engineering department which includes Mechanical, Electrical-Electronics and Computer Technologies and concerns about their design, manufacturing, maintenance and management. Our students especially, specialize in electrics, electronics, hydraulic, computerized automation systems and robotics areas. Also they have the opportunity to pursuit a graduate level education in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering and Computer Engineering or many more. In our department we have the following laboratories; Fundamental Electronics, Microprocessors and Microcontrollers, PLC, Electrical machinery, Control, Hydraulic/Pneumatic, Robotics and Manufacturing.
