Biomedical engineers in hospitals;

-Technical operation and maintenance and repair of mechanical, electronic devices and systems used for diagnosis and treatment,

-Duties such as device selection, technical specifications, user training, etc. in the transfer of developing technology to the hospital environment,

-Without developing and implementing methods for performance control and calibration of instruments,

- Designing new biomaterials to be used in various therapies and testing the usability of the materials,

- Developing computer models to study treatments for injuries, strains, etc.

In a study conducted in the USA, it was stated that the branch of engineering that will have the highest increase in job opportunities between 2008-2018 will be Biomedical Engineering with an increase rate of 72%. In our country, according to the standard published in the Official Gazette dated 27.07.2001 and numbered 24472 and in the Official Gazette dated 22.03.2002 and numbered 24708, hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health with a capacity of 200 or more beds and private hospitals with a capacity of 100 or more beds are obliged to employ at least 1 Biomedical Engineer.
